Emily Stewart-Foxx
Life Skills & Off Leash Reliability
In the spring of 2024, Emily took Confident Companions from being a one trainer operation, to a team.
I have trained with and co-consulted on cases with her for two years, and I am so excited for her to be my business partner! I remember the first time I met Emily. We were at training with Carolina Bite Sports Club, and she had such a commanding, no-nonsense energy about her, and as someone who has that same demeanor in my work, I was immediately drawn to her. If you're familiar with the saying that dog training is both an art and a science, watching Emily work her dogs is like watching that come to life. She is so precise and technical in everything she does, but she makes it look and feel like a dance rather than mechanical.
Emily is one of those trainers that will make everyone around her want to elevate their training. You see her work her dogs, or someone else's, and you get pumped about working your dogs and doing it to the best of your ability! That's what she and I both want to bring to you and your dogs. We don't just want to help you get your dogs jumping and leash pulling under control, we want you to feel inspired to work with your dogs and to get top tier coaching on how to take your training to new heights.

Emily has been training dogs professionally for 7 years but began her love for behavior and training many years before that. From a young age she took an interest in helping family and friends with their dogs as well as working with horses at a local barn.
In 2019 she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Veterinary Sciences with minors in Wildlife Fisheries Biology and Business Administration from Clemson University. At Clemson she helped other college students and community members train and care for their dogs. She also rode competitively and was Captain of the Clemson University IHSA Equestrian Team.
Since college she has turned to dog training full time and enjoys helping owners create a better relationship with their dog. Her training philosophy includes many different tools and techniques to better serve the individual dog/owner while focusing on the dogs becoming inclusive members of the family! She believes in a balanced approach to training, first by teaching the dog the correct behaviors and then upholding what they already know.
Emily currently competes and has titles with her own dogs in many AKC venues including competition obedience/rally obedience, agility, trick dog, canine good citizen testing (CGC), dock diving, mushing sports and more. She also trains in a variety of protection sport venues including French Ring and PSA. Emily also enjoys hiking, camping, and adventuring with her canine companions. Her goal as a trainer is to help dogs and their owners have a more rewarding and fulfilling life together!
